Exploited Odia boy in Saudi Arab requests for rescue

Berhampur: After Sudan incident this is the second case in Ganjam, as a boy is exploited by a Saudi Arab farm, which used to send the boy to look after the camels and herd of sheep without paying any money and threatened the boy to not leaving the work. The boy is getting exploited by the owner of the farm.

The boy is identified as Mangaraj Pradhan alias Munna, son of Prafulla Pradhan of Badabaranga under Chikiti block of Ganjam district. The parents of Muna have reported in the Chikiti police station on Sunday about the exploitation of their son in the foreign land.
When we communicated with Inspector In-charge of Chikiti police station Gopal Krushna Mishra on this matter, he told The Pioneer that this is a high level case, this is happened in a foreign land, so our government will have to communicate with their local administration for the safe returning of the boy, who is working there.

Things came to light when the boy on Sunday requested their parents back home over phone for help to rescue him. The told that the agent, who had sent him to South Arab has sold to a Saudi people in Rs 6 lakh.

It is noted that six days before, more than 150 Odia labourers are reportedly languished in Sudan where they were dispatched by a Kerala firm to work in a power plant. The labourers migrated mainly from villages under Patrapur block in Ganjam district.
