BHUBANESWAR:
All India Congress Committee (AICC) vice-president Rahul Gandhi met senior
Congress leaders in New Delhi on
Monday in order to strengthen the party base in the State. The Gandhi scion
discussed about the organisational status of the party and suggested the
leaders to speed up of the party activities in the State.
The Rahul’s meeting with four
heavyweights of State Congress Union Minister Srikant Jena, MP Bhakta Chran
Das, former PCC president Jaydeb Jena and senior Congress leader Lalatendu
Bidyadhar Mohapatra, created rumour in the political level about change in
leadership of Pradesh Congress Committee.
Rahul has called MP Pradeep Majhi
to meet him on Tuesday to discus at length about the party situation. The
continuous routine discussion with the senior Congress leaders is giving a sign
of leadership change, said a political analyst.
But the State leaders deny the
rumour and cleared that the meeting was totally based on strengthening of party
in the State. “Rahul was discussing about the strengthening of the party and to
speed up of the party work to prepare for the coming election. The meeting was
purely based on party matter,” said Jena.
