Some students of the first group asked the other group to withdraw the nomination for the Vice-president post while the second group did not agree with the proposal and protested the first group. Taking into this silly matter, a small fight was taken place. Three students namely Ashok Mahankuda, Akhandaleswar Swain, Biswajit padhy of the second group injured in the tussle which led the way for tension in the campus. Keeping eye on the matter and the law and order situation in the campus, election officer, Chairman of PG Council along with the executive body of the varsity administration decided for the cancellation of election.
The other group led by presidential candidate Jaydev Pandit had agitated against the cancellation of the election. The university authority tried to negotiate with the agitated students’ group, but failed and then they had planned out to conduct an indirect election.
