Youth Commission in India demanded



BHUBANESWAR: Attending a State-level consultation for sharing of People’s Manifesto-2014 organised by the Wada Na Todo Abhiyan (WNTA) here on Sunday, the National Congress Party (NCP) State members demanded the Central Government to establish a Youth Commission in the country.

NCP member Srikant Samantray said they will draft a manifesto for setting up of the commission in India. He also said that his party will focus on the subject of human resources development, social security and other issues in the upcoming general election-2014.

Similarly representatives of different political parties functioning in the State including CPI (ML) leader Mahendra Parida and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Rabi Das attended the WNTA’s People’s Manifesto programme. They discussed about women and child development, education, health, agriculture, welfare of SC, ST, OBC and Minorities, rural development, social security and inclusion, water and sanitation facility, urban development, eradication of poverty and other issues.  

Notably, WNTA has initiated the process of preparing peoples manifesto for the Lok Sabha election 2014. Panchayat, block and district level meetings have been organised in 12 Lok Sabha constituencies of 21 districts in the State to prepare the manifesto.
