According to police enquiry, Ravindranath Jena was working as an ASI in Rambha police station. He was staying in a rented house in Rambha town with his colleague, an ASI in the same police station. After the duty was over on Friday night they were taken rest in the house. Next morning, Ravindra’s colleague asked him to finish his work quickly, as they were already late.

Ravindra’s friend completed his work and went outside. When he returned to the room, he saw the body of Ravindra was hanging from the staircase iron bar. A cloth was used for hanging, which rounded on Ravindra’s neck.
