…. Villagers threaten indefinite stir in front of Aska Sugar Factory
Aska/Berhampur: Villagers of Nuagaon under Aska police station of Ganjam district set out a large demonstration in front of the Aska Cooperative Sugar Factory alleging careless attitude towards fulfilling their basic demands on Thursday here.
Many a times, the villagers have been discussed about their various demands with the officials of the factory but it is only on pen and paper. So the Nuagaon Suraksha Mancha planned for a indefinite stir from Friday onwards as an agitation against the careless attitude of the administration in the3 leadership of Ramachandra Nayak.
Employment for the unemployed youths of the Nuagaon village, controlling of air pollution emit from the boiler unit and sugar factory, health service, supply of drinking water, electrification in the street, sanitation facility, cleansing of the pond near the factory which increases mosquito problem are demands of the Nuagaon Suraksha Mancha before the sugar factory administration.
The Director of Aska Cooperative Sugar Factory Basant Kumar Behera requested to stop the agitation and try to work out as a team with them. In addition to this, the Director told that the meeting with the Suraksha Mancha held before. But the decision after the discussion in the meeting was not accepted by the Mancha people. They are trying their best to fulfill the demands and most of the works are in the pipeline.
While former minister Raghaba Parida alleged severe irregularities by the factory administration and demanded the formation of a council which will run the factory smoothly. Apart from the leaders, hundreds of villagers were participated in the demonstration.
