Berhampur: Vacancy in Revenue Department to be filled up soon, said Revenue Minister Suryanarayana Patro attending the review meeting on revenue of ten districts held in the conference hall of Revenue Divisional Commissioner on Tuesday here.
Addressing the meeting Patro told that the District Magistrates have to take the responsibility of revenue division along with other charges of district administration. Some non ST people have cheated the tribal peoples. He directed to distribute that land among the tribal people after recovering from non ST people.
While distributing Government lands among the landless families, Revenue Officers should give proper attention towards the welfare of the people as the lands are near to their house as far as possible. Those agricultural lands are being sold by the plot businessmen without changing it into house patta (Gharabari). According to the Land Act-8 of the Government, it can be brought by the land owner, he said.
Minister Patro expressed happiness over the hard work of the Revenue Officers for distribution of the compensation money to the farmers within the time frame.
He also spoke about the promotion of the OAS officers and informed about the vacancy of Junior Clerk, Amin, ARI posts in Revenue Department. For these posts, state level entrance test will be held. On the coming days 500 posts in sub register level to be filled soon.
District Magistrate of 9 districts and an Additional District Magistrate of Boudh with Revenue Commission member Satya Prakash Nanda, Revenue and Disaster Management Commissioner and Secretary Raj Kumar Sharma and southern division RDC Laxmi Narayana Nayak were present over the meeting.
While interacting with the minister, Nanda said about the immediate issue of Patta to the households as so many applications has been pending for the issue of Pattas. RDC Nayak said that district administration should common people friendly and it should reach at the time of need of the people. He opined that district administration should take vigilant steps towards the expenditure of government fund and distribution of compensation at the time of natural calamity.
