Protest rally for Swami Ramdev from Ganjam
….a massive indefinite dharana has begun in Chatrapur, Ganjam and Berhampur
Berhampur: A massive Dharna with a huge rally organized in the city on Sunday here by Bharat Swabhiman and Patanjali Yoga Trust(PYT) of Ganjam protesting the fascist behaviour of the Union Government against Swami Ramdev and his followers in the Ramlila ground in Delhi.
The dharna continued to second day in the district headquarter Chatrapur and Ganjam block in the leadership of Ganjam Block Chairman Surath Pahan organized by the Nagarika Mancha. On Sunday they organized a rally protesting the uncivilized behavior of the Union Government.
Hundreds of men and women from different walk of life participated in the rally started from Tehsil office to Gandhi statue in Berhampur and urged the Union Government to accept the demand of Swami Ramdev to recover black money stashed in the foreign banks and take other measures to check corruption and improve the living condition of the Indian farmers and raised voice against the forceful eviction of Baba Ramdev from Ramlila ground.
The police excess inside the camp in the Ramlila ground is so uncivilized and it is a black spot in the history of Indian democracy. Swami Ramdev is more competent to pick the issue of corruption as the citizen of India. So Government has no right to question about his stand against corruption, said Rama Chandra Panda.
Apart from the members of Bharat Swabhiman, the PYT, those of the Berhampur Nagarika Mancha, Vidyarthi Parishad, Viswa Hindu Parishad(VHP) and others were participated in the rally. The indefinite dharana started from June 4 will continue till Government accepts the demand and all the organisations of Ganjam are against the Governments draconian law, informed the PYT.
Among others, treasurer of PYT Gaurishankar Patro, VHP member Prof Ramesh Tripathy, former Deputy Speaker Ramachandra Panda, Advocate Kiran Kant Panigrahy, Swami Chinmayananda, Youth leader Sitaram Patro, Govinda Das, Viswanath Biswal, Sanjukta Prusty were participated in the rally.
