BHUBANESWAR: To get instant and easy money, some people choose the way of dacoity, looting and stealing, but few honest people do different things by returning missed money or jewelry to the owner of the valuables. Similar case happened with a slum dweller Narayan Jena of Salia Sahi under Nayapalli police station.
Jena,
working as a mason, found a vanity bag fallen on the road on Wednesday morning
while he was going to his work field. The bag containing jewelries worth Rs 3
lakh was falsely claimed by some persons to get the bag, but Jena
handed over the vanity bag to the police station.
The vanity bag
belonged to the wife of retired IPS officer Ashutosh Mishra. While she was
going in his car, unknowingly her vanity felled down on the road.
Police officers
and people of his area appreciated the honesty of Jena.
Some people said honesty is still the best policy. Being a poor man, did not
want to take the precious jewelry and money to home which is the real
truthfulness of a man, said the police. Jena
will be awarded by the Commissionerate Police for his honesty.
