Thunderstorm plays havoc in border village

Sorada: Thunderstorm wreaked havoc in a Ganjam-K’mal border village Barapalli under Raikia police station of Kandhamal district. The lightning with thunder squall destroyed three houses and seven persons injured severely in the lightning on Sunday.

The villagers were injured, when they were in the house. The thunder squall destroyed three houses and the inmates of the houses Basant Bisoyee (35), Simanchala Senapati (34), Sanatan Bisoyee (22), Pramada Bisoyee (22), Sarmista Pradhan (6), Raja Naik (24) and Mamina Naik (14) were severely injured.

The injured persons were rushed to Sorada Hospital, but when the health condition of Basant Bisoyee got worsened, he was immediately replaced to Berhampur. It is noted that, before this, Berhampur was affected by thunder squall and lightning with heavy wind fall.
