JD (U) appeals voters to defeat Cong, BJP

BHUBANESWAR: The Janata Dal (United) State president Chitta Ranjan Mohanty on Saturday stated national parties like BJP and Congress as enemies of Odisha and appealed voters of the State not to vote both the parties in the ensuing elections.

“The parties are misleading the people saying that they will form the Government though they may not get 150 seats each in the Lok Sabha polls,” said Mohanty.

To get legitimate rights of the State, Mohanty said, the people should reject the Congress and the BJP as these parties never helped the State during its bad time. JD(U) leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had approved the formation of the East Coast Railway in Odisha. Similarly, party’s chief Sharad Yadav had introduced direct purchasing of paddy by the FCI when he was the Union Minister of Food and Supplies.

“We urge the voters of the State to cast votes for left democratic forces by rejecting the two parties,” Mohanty said.
