JEE Mains exam to be held tomorrow



BHUBANESWAR: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains examination for engineering aspirants conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be held in the State on Sunday.

According to the CBSE sources, about 49,000 students would appear the examinations at 90 centres in nine cities of Odisha of which 28 centres are at Bhubaneswar, nine at Cuttack, 12 at Brahmapur, 10 at Sambalpur, eight at Rourkela, 12 at Baleswar, two at Bhawanipatna, four at Jeypore and five at Angul.

While a maximum of 20,000 students would appear in the city, the lowest number of 1200 candidates would appear at Bhawanipatna centre in Kalahandi district, the sources added.

First sitting of the examination will begin at 9.30 am and will continue till 12.30 pm, while second sitting will be conducted between 2 pm and 5 pm. “The students appearing the examination should reach at the centre before time otherwise they will not be allowed after 9.30 am,” said CBSE Regional Officer AS Burma.

Result of the JEE (Mains) will be out in the first week of May, the CBSE sources said.  

Notably, about 20,000 students had appeared the JEE Mains examination held at Rourkela last year.
