BHUBANESWAR: After the performance of Odissi for the world record at the Kalinga Stadium, the eminent persons behind the success of the glorious history of Odissi and their contribution to this classical performing art form were honoured in the first evening of International Odissi Dance Festival-2011 on Friday.
For her contribution to the field of Odissi, Kum Kum Mohanty got Odissi Dance Award, whereas Odissi Music Award for Guru Ramahari Das, Odissi Scholar Award for Subhas Pani, Odissi Critic Award for Leela Venkatraman, Odissi Institution Award for India for Sangeet Mahavidyalay, Odissi Overseas Contribution honour for Malaysia-based Sutra Foundation, Odissi visionary Award for the first Director of All India Radio C V Krishnamurty, Odissi Special Recognisition Award for Jayant Kastwar for excellence in the field of Odissi in international level.
Odisha Tourism and Culture Minister Prafulla Samal, Principal Secretary of Tourism Ashok Kumar Tripathy, president of US-based Indian Performing Arts Promotions (IPAP) Pratap Das, Advisory Board Chariman Lalit Mansingh conferred the awards.
