BHUBANESWAR: “Three new training institutes are going to be established and made functional shortly to increase the training capacity of both civil and armed police,” said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik while delivering a speech at the passing out parade ceremony of the trainee officers of Civil and Armed Police at the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy here on Saturday.
Addressing the passed out police officers, Patnaik advised them to deal with the public in such a manner which will project a better image of the police as well as of the State. “Cases relating to Women and Children are required to be dealt with all the seriousness and sympathy. There should not be any negligence in handling of such cases,” said Patnaik adding, “I am sure that you will try your best to project the image of the Odisha Police as a professionally competent, proactive and people friendly.”
He also assured the police officers who work in Maoist affected areas will receive due recognition in their career opportunities.
This passing out batch (5th batch) constituted of 92 cadet Sub-Inspectors of police, 25 cadet Sergeants (1st batch) and 123 cadet Deputy Subedars (2nd batch) passed out on the occasion of the Dikshant Parade Ceremony. Apart from that, some police officers were felicitated with medals and trophies for their excellent contribution to the police department of the State.
Among others, MP Prasanna Kumar Patsani, Police DG Manmohan Praharaj, Biju Patnaik State Police Academy Director AK Sarangi and other senior police officers were present.
