Students’ body demands high-level inquiry in Q paper theft case


BHUBANESWAR: Demanding a high-level inquiry into the Matriculation examination paper theft case and remarkable punishment to the culprits, the All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) staged demonstration in front of the State Assembly here on Thursday.

While addressing the student mass at the protest meeting, AIDSO president Akshay Das and vice-president Subash Nayak said the irregularity in question paper preparation to publication of result leads a dark future for most of the students in the State. Involvement of higher-level officers in the question paper leak racket can not be ruled out, they added.

They also demanded the Government to take stringent action against the officers who is responsible for this, bear the expenditures of the students for re-examination, take appropriate steps for infrastructure development of the educational institutions and stop privatisation of management process of examination and hike in examination fee.

The members of the organisation called upon the students, teachers, parents and intellectuals of the State to take part in the mass movement to press the Government for fulfilling the demands of the students.
