BHUBANESWAR: The Arthika
Samsthamananka Dwara Kshatigrasthanka Milita Mancha, a duped investors’ body,
would intensify stir from September 10 at the district level demanding recovery
of their money deposited with the fraudulent companies. The stir would continue
till September 16, said Mancha convener Jayant Das addressing a Press
conference here on Friday.
The Mancha submitted a memorandum
to the Chief Secretary demanding rapid redressal of the plights of investors
and refund of the depositors’ money within a time frame.
The body in its six-point charter
of demands urged the State Government to notify the name of officers and
offices in every block or tehasil where the depositors can submit the proof of
deposits made by them to any of these companies by which investigation will be
smooth to know the quantum of fraud made by companies.
They further demanded the
Government to appoint an Assets Management and Valuation Committee under the Finance
Department to take charge of the movable and immovable properties seized by the
police. The Government must enact stringent law to protect the interest of
depositors and appropriate rules should be framed to implement the Act which is
assented recently by the President of India.
The Government’s announcement to
create corpus fund and the recovery of depositors’ money has remained
non-starter. “The State should take immediate action, otherwise we will
intensify our stir to the grassroots level,” said Das.
