--demand change of drama teacher
BHUBANESWAR: The students of Utkal
Sangeet Mahavidyalay here on Wednesday ransacked the main entrance of the
college along with a department hall demanding change of a drama teacher who is
continuing as a guest faculty. The irate students locked the college gate and continued
their strike against the institution authorities.
According to the students, they had
requested the college principal Tamasharani Das Mohapatra to change the guest
lecturer of drama department for his unsatisfactory teaching. When the
principal delayed in taking steps to remove the faculty, the students locked
the college gate and the chambers of principal, lecturers and staff of the
college. Then the angry drama students ransacked the main entrance protesting
the apathy of the college authorities.
Principal said that the students
just gave memorandum on Wednesday and she was ready to discuss with students,
but they didn’t listen and started vandalism in the college.
