Secretariat staff’s body hails 60-year retirement age

BHUBANESWAR: Members of the Odisha Secretariat Service Association (OSSA) hailed the decision of the State Government to increase the superannuation age of its employees from 58 years to 60 years and greeted the Chief Minister by presenting flower bouquet at the Secretariat here on Thursday.

Notably, the Association had been demanding since 2005 before the State Government to increase their retirement age by two years. Around 24 State have already increased the retirement age to 60 years following the Centre’s move in 1998. 

According to OSSA president Chittaranjan Hota, over four lakh State Government employees would get benefit out of the recent decision. Besides the OSSA, different associations of the Government employees in the Secretariat greeted the Chief Minister.
