--BJYM demands Higher Edu Minister’s resignation
BHUBANESWAR:
Thousands of Plus II students along with their guardians were seen standing in
long queues in front of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) head
office here on Wednesday to submit their applications for rechecking and seeking
photocopies of their answer sheets.
Students
complained of standing in the queues since early morning waiting for their turn
to come as the CHSE authorities have opened only four counters for depositing
application forms and fees for revaluation.
Most
of the students applied for rechecking of the subjects like Mathematics,
Biology, Physics and Chemistry. “I got zero in Maths and Biology while I had
done well in the examinations and was expecting around 80 marks in Maths and at
least 60 in Biology,” said a student standing in the queue.
Another
student said they have suffered a lot due to the CHSE’s inconvenience. Some
other students complained that the toll free helpline numbers were not
functioning which added salt to their misery.
Meanwhile,
members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and BJP Yuva Morcha,
who were protesting here against the faulty evaluation by the CHSE, had a
scuffle with the police during the demonstration in front of the council office.
The activists demanded resignation of the Higher Education Minister and suspension
of the CHSE Chairman over the faulty evaluation.
