Odia girl Rajasmita shines in ‘Dance India Dance-3’

BHUBANESWAR/ROURKELA: Ending all speculation and perception the Odia girl Rajasmita Kar was declared the winner at the grand finale of the third edition of Zee TV’s popular dance reality show ‘Dance India Dance’ on Saturday night.

In the grand finale Rajasmita (Geeta Ki Gang) stood number one by scoring 48, 89,030 votes by surpassing her other four contestants Pradeep Gurung of Assam and Raghav Juyal of  Dehradun from ‘Terence Ki Toli’ group, Sanam Johar of Delhi and Mohena Singh of Rewa in Madhya Pradesh from ‘Remo Ke rangeelay’ group.

Rajasmita was awarded with winner trophy (Taqdeer ki Topi) and Maruti Ertiga car. One interesting act performed by Kar, where 24 dancers along with her hung in mid air with the help of a truss, mesmerised the audience. Her dance performance was highly praised by all three masters Geeta Kapoor, Remo D’Souza and Terence Lewis and Grand Master Mithun Chakraborty.

Rajasmita hails from a lower medium class family of Basanti Colony here, is a +2 Arts Student. Her father Ramesh Kar is an electrician. Rajasmita started taking dance lessons from a local teacher, Aman Nayak. She loves Hip Hop the most but she does all other dance styles pretty well.

Many social and cultural organisations of the city are eagerly awaiting Rajasmita’s arrival to felicitate her.
