Over 400 buses to ply in Puri route for Rath Yatra

BHUBANESWAR: More than 400 private and Government owned special buses would run on Puri route for Rath Yatra. The buses carrying passengers would come from different parts of the State to reach Puri town, official sources said.

According to reports, over 350 private buses and more than 48 buses of the Odisha State Road Transportation Corporation (OSRTC) would ply in the Puri route. “Essential services like drinking water facility will be available in the buses,” said OSRTC DGM Sudhir Kumar Behera.

Though the Private Bus Owners’ Association has intimated the State Government to hike the bus fare during the Ratha Yatra, the OSRTC said that it would not hike in bus fare.

The OSRTC sources said that it would open an information centre for passengers at the Kalpana Square to provide information about the buses which would ply on the route.
