Whereabouts of missing Bhubaneswar techie still a mystery

BHUBANESWAR: Three days have already passed, but the Commissionerate Police are yet to get a tangible lead in the missing of TCS employee Manab Patnaik who had gone missing from the city since Monday.

Though the police have started a search operation to trace the missing techie, they could not progress in the investigation as the information provided by Manab’s parents was not sufficient.

Meanwhile, Manab’s father Kambupani Patnaik on Thursday urged the police to find out the bike used by Manab on the day of his missing to get some clue to trace his son.

Manab’s father said that his son had left home without his bike and took another black-coloured bike from a person of their locality on Monday morning. He said a betel shop owner at the KIIT Campus informed him that Manab had left for his office in a black-coloured bike after taking some mouth freshener from the shop.

Patnaik said Manab had joined TCS on May 28 this year as a trainee after leaving his job as system administrator at SAI International. “As he was new in the company, he had no problem with anybody and content in his profession,” said Patnaik, adding, “My son is a silent-natured person. Most of the time he prefers to stay at home, so he doesn’t have enmity with anyone.”

Patnaik said they have already contacted his relatives living in Balangir, Kalahandi, Titlagarh in the State and outside Delhi and Hyderabad, but failed to get any clue of his son’s whereabouts.

The local police are investigating Manab’s previous call records and his bank transactions to get some reliable clues to progress in the investigation.
