Wrong evaluation allegation: Students, parents gherao CHSE office

BHUBANESWAR: Hundreds of Plus II students and their parents gheraoed the office of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Odisha here on Monday demanding re-evaluation.

The students expressed resentment over the ‘wrong’ evaluation in various papers including physics, chemistry and mathematics. They demanded speedy revision of mark-sheets and re evaluation of papers.
Many students, who secured 80 to 90 per cent marks in other subjects, have got only around ten per cent in physics, chemistry and mathematics papers.

To pacify the crowd in front of his office, CHSE chairman Basudev Chhatoi said the council is sensitive towards the career of the students. He would investigate the allegation of ‘faulty’ evaluation made by the students, Chhatoi added.

Meanwhile, the Higher Education department has directed the CHSE to submit a report about the ‘faulty’ evaluation allegation and asked the council to make arrangement for rechecking of answer papers of the complainants within 10 days.
