Mother of kidnapped minor girl meet OHRC chair

BHUBANESWAR: Sanjukta Mohanty, mother of kidnapped minor girl Ankalipasa Pal from Sambalpur, filed a petition before the chairperson of Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) here on Tuesday requesting immediate intervention into the kidnapping case of her minor daughter, who is missing since September 24 last year.

Sanjukta said her daughter Ankalipasa, a student of class-XI (Eleven) from Kendriya Vidyalaya at Sambalpur, was kidnapped on her way back home from private tuition on September 24 evening. “I suspect her to have been kidnapped by anti-socials,” said Sanjukta to The Pioneer.

Later, she had lodged a FIR at Ainthapalli police station of Sambalpur. Although four months have elapsed, the police are not taking appropriate action and are not keen to find out the kidnapped girl and culprits, she added. “Since my husband is no more the daughter was my only companion. I am totally broken without her,” said Sanjukta in heavy heart.

She requested the OHRC chairperson to take up her case and direct the concerned authorities to inquiry into the matter after registering her daughter’s case with the commission.
