BHUBANESWAR: The Commissionerate Police foiled an attempt for dacoity by a gang of dacoits at Rental Colony in the city on Thursday. Police arrested the culprits and later forwarded to the court on the same day.
On a tip off, the Commissionerate Police reached the spot near the slum area of Rental Colony where the gang of dacoits were making plans and arrangements for dacoity. Police arrested the culprits from the spot and recovered one Mouser, Air gun, Bhujalli, Knives, bullets along with two motorcycles from the dacoits’ possession.
The gang members were identified as Chandan Dehury, Sujeet Lenka, Swaraj Kumar Prusty and Nakul Das from the city, Kendrapada and Ganjam area. The gang was involved in many murder, dacoity and bike loot case, the police said.
