Counselling for lateral entry of diploma students begins


BHUBANESWAR: Counselling for lateral entry of diploma students started from Friday in the State to register their names into degree courses. For this category, 13, 162 students have qualified this year, Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) officials said. 

Though, final date yet to be declared for the counselling of Medical, BDS, Agriculture and Engineering streams, authorities of the OJEE have given green signal to the eligible diploma students for registering their names into degree courses through lateral entry.

According to the OJEE officials, 20 nodal centres would be opened in the State by last week of this month where students can register their names in the OJEE site and they can choice colleges available on the site through choice locking facility.

It may be noted that after the discipline-wise approval of the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) on the number of approved seats in engineering and medical colleges, the picture of counselling would clear.
