OGS reiterates CBI probe into Pipili gangrape case

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Gana Samaj (OGS) staged a rally in front of the Rajbhavan here on Thursday demanding CBI probe into Pipili gang rape case. The members of the OGS condemned the incident and observed black day. A delegation team of OGS later handed over a memorandum, consisting of four-point charter of demands, to Governor Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare regarding the case.

Journalist Rabi Das and Prashant Patnaik led OGS demanded CBI probe into Babina Behera and Prabhati Behera murder case and exemplary action against culprits, conspirators, doctors and police officials who neglected in their services. They also demanded the State Government should provide better facilities and protection to live with dignity and the Government should implement properly the Acts to protect women, dalits, tribals and minorities.

Leaders and workers of different political parties like Bijaylaxmi Sahu and Jayant Biswal from Congress, Rabi Behera and Arun Jena from Samajwadi Party, Narayan Reddy and Sura Jena from CPI, Suresh Panigrahy and Naba Mohanty from CPI (M), Radhakant Sethy and Mahendra Parida from CPI (ML), Santosh Mitra from Forward Block and members of other non-political organisations were present.
