IAC Odisha raises voice against Pranab

BHUBANESWAR: India Against Corruption Odisha chapter staged a rally here on Tuesday demanding a clean president instead of giving chance to Pranab Mukherjee to contest next presidential election. The members of the organisation sat on dharna at the Lower PMG after conducting a procession from Master Canteen to the Lower PMG square flaunting placards protesting Pranab as presidential candidate.

The member of the IAC have started a postcard campaign by which anyone can send a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner of India demanding an independent and impartial inquiry against all the corruption allegations raised against Pranab Mukherjee before the presidential election.

According to the members of the IAC, nominating of a person like Pranab as next president of the country, who is allegedly involved in corruption, is a matter of grave concern for a democratic country like India.

The members of the IAC demanded that an independent and impartial inquiry is needed against the corruption allegations rose against Pranab Mukherjee before the presidential election. His candidature should not be accepted till the inquiry. They also demanded that ‘Jan Lokpal’ at the centre and a strong ‘Lokayukta’ in the State are needed for more accountability, transparency and to implement the above.
