Delay in time schedule infuriates Passport applicants

BHUBANESWAR: On the opening day of the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) at the Regional Passport Office here, Passport applicants on Monday complained against authorities for delay in actual time of passport verification. The police had to come to control the infuriated Passport applicants.

According to an applicant, he did wait for four hours for passport verification as his time was scheduled to 11am, still his documents could not be verified. We come according to the information provided by the office, but why we will suffer the problem, said an applicant Prabhat.

Around two hundreds of applicants were waiting to verify their documents for passport, but due to delay in verification process, most of the applicants started shouting and complaining before the officers. Finally police came to control the crowd.

It may be noted that the Regional Passport Office Bhubaneswar had launched a Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) on May 28 this year, which is the 77th centre in the country, to make it easy for the applicants and to bring transparency into the processes.
