Ex-Southco CEO attempts suicide at Brahmapur

BRAHMAPUR: After losing mental balance due to numbers of allegation against him, Ex-Southco CEO Tapan Kumar Mishra, who was caught in Vigilance net recently, attempted suicide by holding a live electrical wire from a transformer near his residence at Baikunthanagar 2nd lane on Thursday morning here.

Mishra came into contact with heavy current passing through the live wire from a transformer near his residence in the morning, which left him unconscious and sixty percent burn injury on his body. He rushed to the MKCG Medical College hospital, but due to critical injury he was taken to Vishakhapatnam for his further treatment.

“Some of my rivals harassed me; they have created conspiracy using vigilance and others. I could not bear this type of mental torture and attempted suicide,” said Mishra.

It may noted that numbers of allegations were filed against Tapan Mishra including farm house raid alleging meter tampering and Vigilance raid alleging money laundering. Raid on farm house, which is in the name of his wife, created hue and cry that time. Then following the electricity meter tampering case in his name, a team of vigilance official of Southco on October 31 had conducted a raid on his residence at Baikunthanagar 2nd lane to check the electricity meter tampering. After one month Vigilance again start raid on his house during last two days and the raid is going on.
