DGP asks his men to be sensitive towards women, children



BHUBANESWAR: “Be sensitive towards the most vulnerable women and children victims,” said Director General of Police Prakash Mishra while inaugurating the two-day long workshop on ‘Women and Children Cell’ jointly organised by the State Women and Child Welfare Department and the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA) here on Wednesday.

While addressing 70 police officers and five protection officers in the workshop, Mishra emphasised on the security of women and children by citing the examples of sexual assaults in Delhi and Pipili.

Gracing the occasion, State Women and Child Welfare Department secretary Arti Ahuja said the police should take appropriate steps in the cases of women and children. The police should help the women exploited by their family members or other people according to the provision of the law, she added.

Among others, BPSPA director Kanwar Brajesh Singh, Human Rights Protection Cell ADG Pradeep Kapoor, police officers and protection officers were present.
