Mumbai International Film Festival in Odisha



--Oscar nominated ‘Little Terrorist’ to be screened today

CUTTACK: Oscar nominated short film ‘Little Terrorist’ directed by Ashvin Kumar would be screened as the opening film in the non-competitive documentary, short and animation film festival ‘MIFF in Odisha’ organised by the Films Division (Government of India) in collaboration with the Biju Pattanaik Film and Television Institute at the BPFTIO Auditorium here from Friday.

During the three-day long festival, selected award winning films of Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) for documentary, short and animation films would be screened.

The MIFF, which began its journey in 1990 as Bombay International Film Festival (BIFF), has grown in size and stature as one of the premier international events of documentary film movement. The past editions have been overwhelming successes and now MIFF is considered as one of the most spectacularly organised international festivals in the world. MIFF has an edge over other festivals as it gives away the maximum cash awards- a total worth approximately Rs 6.35 million.

On an average, more than 35-40 countries participate in every edition of the festival, which serves as a platform for documentary filmmakers to meet, interact and exchange ideas. The festival attracts the best of films made all over the world on varied subjects.

‘MIFF in Odisha’ would showcase some of the finest cinematic works realised in the last eight years throughout the world.
