2 killed in Narayanpatna, Police suspect Maoists’ hand

NARAYANPATNA: A man and his son have been found murdered on Thursday morning inside their hut at Bagam village of Kumbhari panchayat under Narayanpatna block in Koraput district.

The deceased identified as Habika Shibu (60) and his son Habika Lingu (40) were killed by a few unknown miscreants while they were sleeping in their hut.

The duo was doing cotton business after harvesting the crop from their field near the village. Though the reason behind the double murder is not yet clear, the police suspect the involvement of Maoists in the crime.

Two days ago, one businessman Suresh Subudhi of the area was killed and another person was critically injured in the Maoists attack. The Maoists have unleashed terror in the area despite the strict vigil of five platoons of BSF and local police along with SOG and IRB battalion.
