Odia youth launches educational networking website

BHUBANESWAR: An Odia IT professional Sarathi Sabyasachi Sahoo, who was working in Yahoo! for five years, on Sunday launched an online educational cum social networking website like Facebook to elevate the current educational system to a new height.

While launching his website, ‘backyard.in’, Sahoo said that it will bring Admin-Teachers-Students under one roof. Its unique feature ties the entire college in one logical thread, he added. “Here one can get news, entertainment, interact and share with anyone within the campus,” Sahoo said, adding, “The idea behind this software is to elevate the current educational system to a new height.”

The website will provide various services to the students. For instance, each individual will be given login ID and password to access his/her ID, provide a dashboard with separate login-in access to all students along with teachers, various modules of the software will take care of all processes of an institution like- student-teacher interaction, senior-junior interaction, doubt clearance, regular e-attendance, buying and selling of goods like draft and apron.

This apart, the software has the module to manage the hall of fame, notice board, library management and in the admin part it has viewing and creating of blogs, ban abusive blogs posts and comments and add/remove members. Besides, features like in-built chat and message, unlimited photo upload and information about the college events, news and holidays would attract the student and youth mass, Sahoo said.
