BHUBANESWAR:
Train services in East Coast Railway (ECoR) jurisdiction have been affected due
to Bharat bandh called by the Trade Unions and others. As a result, most of the
trains were controlled at different stations in view of demonstrations at
various places in Howrah-Chennai main line over ECoR jurisdiction and the
demonstration was called off latest by 2.30 pm
here and at 3.15 pm at Puri.
The members of the All India
Central Council of Trade Unions (AICCTU) staged demonstration in front of the
trains at the Bhubaneswar railway
station as a result, 24 mail express and nine local passenger trains have been
affected for hours and controlled enroute at different stations. Trains were
delayed for around four hours on Wednesday.
Trains detained at Bhubaneswar
like Rajdhani Express and Visakha Express left the station after five hours instead
of their scheduled timings from here. Similarly, Puri-New Delhi Nandankanan
Express left Puri at 3.25 pm after
called off the demonstration at Puri.
In view of the above, the ECoR
has decided to cancel and short terminate some of the trains. Some trains were
rescheduled to resume their journey.
