According to Morcha’s State unit president Maheswar Sahu, presidents of district-level Morchas led by State-level leaders like Basant Panda and Jadumani Panigrahy staged Rail Roko at the stations like Brahmapur, Nuapada, Titlagarh, Jeypore, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Dhenkanal, Baleswar, Bhadrak, Cuttack and Dunguripalli protesting the UPA Government’s apathetic attitude towards farmers of the country.

Sahu said the Swaminathan Commission had submitted their report in the year 2007 and the Hooda Commission in 2010, but the Congress-led UPA Government failed to implement the recommendations of the reports till date. “If the Government doesn’t implement the recommendations of both the reports, we will take the issue to the streets,” said Sahu.
