Law, order situation deteriorating in State: Opposition

BHUBANESWAR: Reacting over the firing on Law Minister Maheswar Mohanty, the main opposition in the State Assembly Congress and BJP on Saturday criticised the State Government for not controlling increasing crimes in the State.  

Senior Congress leader Narasingha Mishra dubbed the firing incident as a heinous crime. “The incident shows that the condition of law and order situation in the State is deteriorating fast. This type of incident before the election clearly indicates that what will happen in the General Election,” said Mishra.  

Similarly, BJP State president KV Singh Deo in his reaction said, “The right to life and protection of the people is the whole responsible of the Government. As the Chief Minister is heading the department, he should take up the issue seriously rather than sleep over it.”
