BHUBANESWAR: Narayana Hrudayalaya
Hospital would start functioning in the capital city from December next year, informed
State Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Damodar Rout after holding a
discussion with Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospitals chairman Dr Devi Prasad Shetty
here on Saturday.
In the meeting with the Minister,
Shetty discussed about the beginning of construction work of the hospital in
the city. Rout suggested Shetty to expedite the construction of the hospital. Shetty
also informed during the meeting that they would start the work from this
October as already they have delayed.
The hospital, spread over seven
acres, would provide multi super speciality treatment. The first phase of the
hospital with 250 to 300 beds is being built at a cost of Rs 80 crore. The
hospital would provide super speciality heart, Neuro Surgery and joint related
treatment facilities at the beginning, informed Shetty.
Notably, Chief Minister Naveen
Patnaik laid the foundation stone of Narayana Hrudayalaya’s 1000-bed health
city at Dum Duma in the city on September 30 last year.
Shetty said the Odisha unit would
be a world-class hospital providing tertiary level services in all aspects of
health care. During this meeting Health secretary Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra and
other State Government officials were present.
