BHUBANESWAR: “Being the Minister of Corporate Affairs, Sachin Pilot failed in his responsibility to regulate and monitor the chit companies as most of them had obtained registration from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. It was his responsibility to save the investors’ money,” alleged BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma.
Sharma said that out of the total Rs
20,000 crore money cheated by the fraudulent companies, scams of Rs 15,000 crore
have been done by the companies registered with the Ministry of Corporate
Affairs, which means Pilot is accountable to people and must answer if he has
the gut to punish the culprits.
“It is disgusting to hear sermon
from Pilot to make over his failure and incompetence. Even passing the buck to
the State Government will not work as most companies have their head offices in
other States which are outside the purview of the State investigating agencies,”
said Sharma.
He further alleged that the
announcement was a callous and cursory reading of the situation of the people
by the UPA. The announcement clearly showed that it wants to drag the issue
till the upcoming election. Sachin’s motto of visit is only to make over the
image of the Central Government for an easy passage in the upcoming election,
he added.
