--Authorities may handover question paper leak case to CBI
BHUBANESWAR: The authorities of the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) cancelled the examination of the 3rd paper (Controlling Engineering System) of Electronics and Telecommunication’s 5th semester on Wednesday when the authorities found out that the question paper got leaked.
After cancellation of the examination,
BPUT Registrar in-charge BL Agarwal said that they may hand over the question
paper leak case to police and CBI to probe the matter. He asked the principals
of all colleges to return the question papers in sealed condition so that from
prima facie they would be able to know about the leakage.
On Tuesday night, through an e-mail
the questions of third paper (Controlling Engineering System) of Electronics
and Telecommunication’s (ETC) 5th semester got leaked. As soon as the authorities
knew about the incident, they cancelled the examination. The examination date
of the cancelled examination would be informed later, said the authorities.
After the question paper leak
incident, the BPUT authorities notified in their website about the cancellation
of the examination scheduled for Wednesday and intimated principals regarding
this as well. “The reason is yet to be ascertained. We can get the clear
picture after obtaining report from the enquiry committee constituted for
this,” said BPUT VC Jitendriya Satapathy.
