RAYAGADA: Condition of the
16-year-old Rayagada gang-rape victim worsened and was put on ventilator of the
Care Hospital
in Vishakhapatnam from Sunday when she faced breathing
difficulty, informed the doctors.
“Condition of the girl is
serious. The doctors are trying to contain the infection from further
spreading,” said Rayagada district Collector S S Padhi.
“Due to 70 per cent burn injury,
the condition is critical. It is very premature to predict anything at
present,” said Rayagada Chief District Medical Officer KVS Choudhury.
Demanding justice for the victim,
more than hundred people on Monday complained before the District Collector and
the Superintendent of Police. Rayagada SP Rajesh Pandit said they would submit
the charge sheet very soon in the case.
Notably, the minor of Anjipetta
area in the district had attempted suicide by setting herself ablaze the next
day after she was allegedly gang-raped by four persons on the outskirts of
Rayagada town on January 2.
