BHUBANESWAR: A person was arrested
for blackmailing and cheating a girl in the city on Wednesday. The
Commissionerate Police later forwarded him to the court on the basis of the complaint
of the girl, a local university student, who belongs to Kendrapada district. The
accused was identified as Kishore Patra of Aska area in Ganjam district. He was
working as a peon under a builder in Mastercanteen area in the city.
The girl and Patra had a fierce
argument and face-off at a public place of Kharvela Nagar area. After getting
information from public, the police reached the spot where the two were
quarrelling with each other and took the duo to the police station.
On the basis of the complaint of
the girl, the police registered a case against Patra and forwarded him to the
court. “We lodged a cheating case on the basis of the girl’s FIR. We got some
photographs and documents regarding the case,” said DCP Nitinjit Singh.
