BHUBANESWAR: A girl of the city on
Wednesday lodged an FIR at the Mahila police station here against corporator Malay
Mahapatra of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation for allegedly attacking her. On
the other hand, the corporator also lodged an FIR against the woman at Badagada
police station, the police sources said.
The woman was doing saree business
with a man of Badagada area in the city. After few days, the business
relationship could not last long and enmity took place between them. The matter
came to corporator Mahapatra and he started convincing them for a mutual
understanding, sources said.
According to the woman, Mahapatra
allegedly attacked her during the dialogue process. “The corporator threatened
me for a compromise and to withdraw the case against the Badagada saree
businessman. When I didn’t obey him, he attacked me and scolded with filthy
languages,” said the woman.
The corporator denied the
allegation and said that a proper investigation is needed in this matter.
