SAMBALPUR: The Hindalco ash pond
overflow incident reflects complete failure of a clear cut policy for ash pond
management by various companies in the State, alleged the Samajwadi Party
Odisha State Committee after a two-member delegation of the party visited the
site in Sambalpur district.
Addressing a Press meet here on
Monday, party president Rabi Behera said the present repair work by Hindalco is
very much superficial and temporary which may not sustain a heavy shower. No
officials of the State Government or the Pollution Control Board were present
on the spot which reflects their insensitive, casual and careless attitude to
the issue, he added.
