BHUBANESWAR:
The Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) on Saturday signed
a Memorandum of Understanding with the Odisha State Branch of Indian Red Cross Society
(IRCS-OSB) for establishing a School
of Disaster Management in the
university to create a new centre of excellence for knowledge and skills
development in disaster management in the State.
The School
of Disaster Management would offer
courses covering both the theoretical principles and the practices of planning
for, responding to, recovering from a disaster and reducing risks. It would
facilitate Knowledge Management, Technical Assistance, Capacity
Building, Humanitarian Response and
Strengthening partnership with Humanitarian Agencies.
The MoU was signed as a framework
of cooperation between IRCS-OSB and CUTM in the presence of IRCS-OSB Secretary
Dr Mangala Prasad Mohanty and CUTM president Prof Mukti Kanta Mishra here.
