SP, Left parties demand judicial inquiry into Coal scam


BHUBANESWAR: Samajwadi Party Odisha State Committee and the left parties like CPI and CPI (M)’s Odisha State Council organised a rally in front of the State Assembly here on Friday in support of their central leaders who are sitting in a dharna in front of the Parliament demanding an inquiry by a sitting Supreme Court Judge in to the Coal scam.

The party workers came in a procession from Master Canteen square and went to lower PMG where a meeting was held under the chairmanship of SP Odisha State Committee president Rabi Behera where CPI’s State assistant secretary Asish Kanungo, CPI (M) Secretariat body member Dushmant Das spoke in the meeting supporting the demand.

Besides that, the party leaders also demanded subsidised fertilizer to the farmers. They also demanded the State Government to control rape, murder, dowry deaths and firing and other women related crimes with iron hands. Among others, SP State general secretary Arun Jena, secretaries Sudarshan Pradhan, Surendra Bhanja and workers of left parties were present.
