Disproportionate assets found from Gajapati engineer


PARLAKHEMUNDI: Disproportionate assets worth more than Rs 50 lakh was found from an assistant engineer of Rural Development section of Gajapati district during the vigilance raid on Monday. Vigilance sleuths conducted several raids on six places including assistant engineer Khirasindhu Pradhan’s office at G Udaygiri in the district, said Vigilance SP J Hansda.

As the raid is continuing, the actual disproportionate assets could not be estimated, said an official of the Southern Division of Vigilance Department. The sleuths came in five different teams to conduct raids at a time in all the five places. The teams conducted raid on Pradhan’s G Udaygiri office, Brahmapur’s Ayodhyanagar residence, relative sister’s house, half-constructed building at Digapahandi, Pradhan’s father-in-law’s house at Kalyanpur and uncle’s house at Ramnagar second lane in Brahmapur. During the raid the vigilance teams found an agreement paper to buy an apartment at Konark-Puri road and bank deposits, officials said.
