BHUBANESWAR: Five of a looters’ gang were arrested by the Commissionerate Police from Phalikia Bazaar near Kalpana area in the city on Monday. Valuables were also recovered from the members of the gang, the police said. Police are investigating to trace out other members of the gang, Deputy Commissioner of Police Nitinjeet Singh said.
The police recovered 160 gm gold,
1kg silver, four cameras, one binocular, two television sets, one DVD
player, eight mobile sets, one Pulsar bike and one Honda Activa motor vehicle
from the possession of the looters. The gang was active in Nayapalli and
Khandagiri police station area, the police said.
“Five members involved in more
than ten cases were arrested. We have recovered Rs 6 lakh cash from the members,”
said DCP Singh.
