Former CBI Dir’s Aam Admi book released

BHUBANESWAR: “Govt is not taking steps to reform the electoral process of the country, because it would block their way of huge party fund from different means. They just making money by using the loopholes of the laws, while on the other hand, the aam admis are suffering from different problems,” said author and former CBI director Uma Shankar Mishra in his recently published book Aam Admi which was released here on Sunday.

The book has 51 articles which were written in between May 23, 2009 and July 27, 2012 periodically in a regular Odia newspaper’s column named ‘Aam Admi’. He meticulously depicted the attitude of the Government and politicians towards the country in his articles. From Naveen Patnaik’s massive win over Congress in his third term to last article on Indian economy’s present scenario is a great journey of the author which clearly shows his experienced bureaucratic career and his emotion for the common people of the country.

In his every article, one can feel that he is writing for an Aam Aadmi. He has advocated for the common men in his various articles with a clear cut irony towards the hypocrites who themselves claimed as common men’s representatives. He has written on politics, security, education, health like basic necessities, rampant corruption, Lokpal Bill, electoral reform, country’s economy, protection of democracy, left-wing extremism and various social problems inside country.

As a former CBI director and Interpol’s vice president, he has lot of experiences in police administration which shows the articles on police station reformation. In his article he demanded that the Government to implement the recommendations of the Malimath Committee on reforms of Criminal Justice System. He strongly advocated for modernisation of the police organisation and working for common people with human touch.

Besides the author of the book, Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary RN Senapati, editor of Odia daily ‘Khabar’ Adhyapak Biswaranjan, Dr Rangadhar Nayak, Dr Ramesh Chandra Pani and litterateurs were present.
