BHUBANESWAR: The students of the State-run Dr Abhin Chandra Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital on Friday gheraoed the office of Indian medicine and homoeopathy (IMH) director Dhiren Patnaik demanding action against two teachers of their college for allegedly harassing them.
The students gheraoed the
director and asked about his stand on the crisis of the college. The students
also asked that why he is still silent after getting a confidential letter from
the college principal on August 4 to solve the problems of the college. The
students repeatedly demanded stringent action against two teachers Rabi Narayan
Mishra and Jadumani Rout of their college.
The students cautioned the
director to take immediate steps to settle the problems. “If he does not settle
our problem within the stipulated time period, we will think about our next
course of action and the director will be responsible for any damage of the
college or students,” said a 3rd year BHMS student Trilokananda Das.
The argument took place in
between the director and students for long time. Finally, the director agreed
to do an inquiry into the matter. On September 25, the director would go to the
college and discuss with the college principal, the teacher duo and students to
settle the problem amicably.
